Alastor Moody, nicknamed “Mad-Eye”, was a famous and powerful Auror in the employ of the Ministry of Magic. Over the course of his career, Moody captured many different magical criminals, filling Azkaban and being regarded as possibly the strongest Auror in the Ministry because of it.
